The opportunity

We deploy strong multi-skilled teams working seamlessly across countries and service lines, with major hubs in UK, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Romania and Hungary.
Your key responsibilities
As a Tax Associate, you will be working with a selection of clients where you are assisting a Senior Consultant colleague with regards to VAT / GST compliance outsourced to EY, including :
- Act as central point of contact – liaise with your international colleagues with respect to European VAT compliance
- Monitoring the quality / data receipt of the indirect tax data and reports of your clients; ensuring that data gaps are communicated to client in due time
- Prepare indirect tax returns
- Follow up on legislative changes and business changes in order to ensure that the systems and / or processes are updated – this includes liaising with technology team
- Identify issues and opportunities to continuously improve the VAT compliance processes
- Coordinate with other Seniors / VAT controllers and report to the client’s Process Owner at EY (senior manager or above)
- Actively participate to the training and coaching session in your development plan to ensure continuous development of your technical knowledge
Qualifications and experience
A Bachelor / Master’s degree in Economics or Finance / AccountingPreferably 1 year of working experience or internship finance / accounting / compliance, either in industry or with other service providers.Basic understanding of IT-systemsGood knowledge of Microsoft office applicationsFluent in English – written and spokenIntermediate level in German, both written and spokenAny additional European language is an assetAdditional skills and attributes for success
