Global Financial Reporting Excellence Lead

For our international pharmaceutical partner we are looking for a Global Financial Reporting Governance Lead to join the companys Headquarters in a newly created strategic pioneer role with a global scope.

In this position you will be responsible for designing implementing and continuously enhancing the governance framework of the Groups financial reporting processes. Working closely with senior finance leadership and global stakeholders you will drive standardization strengthen reporting controls improve financial close processes and ensure consistent high-quality financial reporting across all business units worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Design own and continuously develop the Groups global financial reporting governance framework.
• Drive governance and standardization of the monthly quarterly and annual financial close processes across all entities.
• Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies reporting instructions and financial reporting timetables.
• Develop and maintain robust governance over reporting quality data integrity and submission accuracy.
• Identify reporting risks analyse root causes of process deficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Define and oversee internal control standards supporting financial reporting and ensure appropriate escalation mechanisms are in place.
• Govern changes affecting financial reporting including accounting policies master data consolidation systems and reporting structures.
• Partner with Finance IT Transformation Internal Audit and external auditors to support finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements.
• Monitor reporting performance through KPIs identify optimization opportunities and support the acceleration of the financial close process.
• Promote governance best practices by delivering guidance and training while acting as a trusted advisor to senior finance stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting Finance or a related discipline.
• min. 7 years of experience in Financial Reporting Group Accounting Financial Governance or Finance Transformation within a multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of financial close processes financial reporting governance and internal controls.
• Experience working with ERP and financial consolidation systems.
• Proven track record in process optimization governance design or finance transformation projects.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to influence stakeholders across functions and seniority levels without direct authority.
• Strong project and change management capabilities.
• Fluent English and native-level Hungarian.
