Expert Contributor

• The Design Lead is an expert in one or more design field : UI, UX, illustration, digital painting, animation, etc. They use that expertise to create new features and products or improve existing ones. They keep up to date with new techniques, tools and processes to elevate the quality of their own work, and share their expertise to continuously improve the quality and velocity of all members of the Design Department.
• When relevant, the Design Lead is responsible for the creation, and maintenance of design components libraries to ensure the visual and functional coherence of components as well as their proper implementation as part of a living Design System in collaboration with the Engineering group.
• Act as an individual contributor, creating visuals, UI's, and marketing material as needed.
• Organize user research efforts for the team in collaboration with UX researchers.
• Ensure the proper implementation of designs.
• Create and maintain design libraries and work with engineers to turn them into living design systems.
• Collaborate with other Leads on cross-team projects and assist in the efficient flow of information through the Design team. Propose process and technical improvements to raise the quality and quantity of the Design team's output.
• Keep up to date with design trends, techniques, and processes. Perform regular competitive analysis and benchmarks.
• Ensuring proper implementation of design rules and standards, and application of the design thinking process when relevant.
