Public Relations Officer Position at the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Budapest

The Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Budapest is seeking a proactive and creative Public Relations Officer to join its team. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting the Embassy’s image, strengthening relations with local stakeholders, and supporting communication activities.

Main Responsibilities :

Developing and maintaining contacts with media, government institutions, and partner organizations, and companies.

Drafting press releases, official statements, and speeches in English and Hungarian.

Monitoring local and international media coverage on issues relevant to the Embassy.

Managing the Embassy’s online presence, including website updates and social media content.

Supporting the planning and organization of Embassy events, conferences, and cultural activities.

Assisting in the preparation of reports, newsletters, and other communication materials.

Providing translation and interpretation support (English–Hungarian, and vice versa).

Ensuring that all communication reflects professionalism, accuracy, and cultural sensitivity.

Ensuring availability to respond to urgent Embassy requests at any time (24 / 7 on-call duty).

Essential Requirements :

University degree in communications, public relations, journalism, political science, or a related field.

At least three years of relevant professional experience in communications, media, or public relations.

Fluency in English and Hungarian (spoken and written).

Excellent writing and editing skills, with attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal and networking abilities.

Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

High level of discretion when dealing with sensitive information.

Professional appearance and communication style.

Availability to be contacted by phone 24 / 7.

Advantage : Knowledge of Arabic.

Previous experience in an Embassy, government institution, or international organization.

Familiarity with cultural diplomacy and international relations.
