Automation Engineer (REF4379M)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer  (Camunda Migration & Backend Automation) to join our internal automation team at Security and Compliance at DT Technik  contributing to the development and migration of backend automation processes that support our security workflows. The primary objective of this role is to lead and support the migration of backend automation workflows from the legacy platform Resolve to Camunda , while ensuring scalability, maintainability, and security.

You will play a key role in analyzing, translating, and re-implementing existing automation workflows and developing new solutions where needed using Camunda and BPMN 2.0 . This role offers the opportunity to influence the direction of the automation architecture, with a strong focus on Java-based backend development , DevOps tooling , and API-driven workflows .

Key Responsibilities

Understand and analyze existing automation workflows implemented in Resolve

Migrate automation logic and workflows to Camunda using BPMN 2.0 standards

Develop and maintain backend logic in Java , Groovy , and Python

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and automation goals

Integrate Camunda workflows with existing systems and APIs

Support CI / CD automation through GitLab Pipelines

Ensure secure, maintainable, and testable automation code

Ensure that security and compliance requirements are adhered to throughout the implementation process.

Document migration progress, workflows, and technical decisions

Qualifications

Must have :

English (working proficiency)

Programming experience with :

Java

Groovy

Python

Solid understanding of APIs and how to interact with them

Experience with Camunda and BPMN 2.0

Familiarity with GitLab CI / CD pipelines

Very good to have :

Understanding of networking and protocols

Experience working on Linux-based systems

Nice to have :

Experience with Resolve

Familiarity with JIRA

German language skills
