Our client is a leading provider of sustainable biorefining solutions, specializing in soil nutrition, animal nutrition, human nutrition, ethanol, and biogas. They are looking to recruit a Head of Project Management Office who will be responsible for overseeing and standardizing project execution across capital expenditure (CAPEX) and development projects. The successful candidate must be fluent in English.

Key Responsibilities :

Project Governance & Standardization :

  • Define and implement project management methodologies, ensuring a structured approach to project execution.
  • Develop standardized tools, templates, and reporting structures for CAPEX and development projects.
  • Establish risk management processes, ensuring early identification and mitigation of project risks.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to regulatory, safety, and financial compliance standards.

Portfolio & Resource Management :

  • Develop a project portfolio roadmap, ensuring alignment with company objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Optimize project resource allocation, balancing workloads across engineering, procurement, and site execution teams.
  • Monitor project financials, tracking CAPEX and development expenditures against budget.
  • Ensure transparent project prioritization based on ROI, business impact, and technical feasibility.

    • CAPEX & Development Project Execution Oversight :

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale CAPEX projects, ensuring cost, time, and scope management.
  • Manage development projects, supporting process innovation, pilot trials, and new technology implementation.
  • Provide executive-level visibility into project performance, risks, and key decision points.
  • Support project managers in resolving roadblocks and escalating critical issues when necessary.

    • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication :

  • Act as a key liaison between engineering, finance, operations, and senior leadership to ensure project alignment.
  • Provide regular reports and presentations on project status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Simplify complex project challenges and effectively communicate solutions to senior management.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, ensuring cross-functional teams are aligned on project goals and deliverables.

    • Process Improvement & Digitalisation :

  • Lead the adoption of project management software and data-driven decision-making tools.
  • Continuously improve PMO processes, incorporating industry best practices for efficiency and scalability.
  • Implement real-time project tracking and analytics to enhance visibility and proactive decision-making.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by integrating energy-efficient and resource-optimized solutions into project execution.

    • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial), Project Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on CAPEX and process development projects in industrial, biorefinery, or manufacturing sectors.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience in managing large-scale capital projects, technology development, or process optimization initiatives.
