Senior Exploration Expert

Location : Budapest, MOL Campus, XI. district

About MOL Upstream :

Scope of the position :

The Senior Exploration Expert contributes to the development of a diverse exploration portfolio aimed at discovering oil and gas accumulations that align with MOL's strategic objectives, emphasizing technical proficiency and teamwork for effective prospect generation and project execution within specified timelines and budgets.

Your tasks will be :

Generate prospects using advanced seismic techniques and integrated petroleum geological evaluation in a timely and budget-conscious manner
Evaluate and interpret seismic data , plan new projects, and identify old data for reprocessing.
Derisk prospects by applying depth conversion, mapping, and seismic tools to assess structural characteristics and fluid potential.
Support operational decision-making during exploration well drilling and testing
Collaborate with internal teams to delive regional studies and joint projects, share knowledge across exploration and other technical units.
Support technical reporting, well evaluations, and business development aligned with MOL’s exploration strategy.

What You Bring to the Table :

We’re looking for a results-driven professional with a passion for excellence and exploration.

Educational Background : You have a University or College degree in Geophysics, Geology or Geoscience.

Professional Experience : Preferably 10+ years, but at least 5+ years of work experience within Exploration geology and geophysics in the oil and gas industry,

Skills :

Expert knowledge of siliciclastic, carbonate sedimentology and stratigraphy, hydrocarbon systems and in particular seismic interpretation,

Petrophysical analysis, prospecting, drilling knowledge.

Fluent in English bith written and verbally. Hungarian knowledge is an advantage,

Creative mindset, not afraid to bring ideas and make them possible,

Teamwork with a result-oriented attitude,

Proactivity with a problem solving mindset.
