In this role, you will support commercial contracting processes, review core agreements, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure mutually agreeable contracts are negotiated and executed.

What you'll be doing
Responsible for staff leadership and managing the commercial contracting processes for the organization; including resolving complex contracting questions, edits, and negotiation
Supports the collaboration with internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure mutually agreeable contracts are negotiated and executed
Experience redlining customer contracts, suggesting edits and providing alternative language
Supervision of designated Contract staff which includes :
Mentoring and defining career paths by developing core competencies
Ensuring proper training is executed and documented
Review contract documentation to ensure high quality of deliverables in accordance with quality standards
Review of Contracting Playbooks to ensure alignment of contracts and corporate strategic direction
Peer review of deliverables
Other duties will include :
Facilitate contracts assignments, track contracts queue (to include CRM / central database entries) and review and approve contract drafts of other team members in Seniors assigned contract categories
Coordinate with internal stakeholders including the Executive Management Team, Sales, Project Management and Operations on the specifications required for drafting of coinciding agreements
Review of core agreements in conjunction with contracting standards (e.g. Master Service Agreements (“MSAs”), Nondisclosure Agreements, (“NDA”), Work Orders (“WO”), Change Orders (“CO”), etc.). If any contract terms and conditions are deemed outside standards and / or risk acceptability, provide guidance and options to coinciding Leaders highlighting the preapproved standards, policies, rules and / or risk acceptance
When necessary, assist or lead negotiations with customers on contractual terms
Manage contract workflow through contract lifecycle to ensure all internal approvals are received for all documents created
Maintain all related contract data in the CRM / central database to ensure that accurate and concise information is obtained and captured to allow reporting of booked business, backlog and forecast information. Accuracy of captured data is essential since the information is disseminated throughout the organization to Finance, Sales, Operations and Project Management and all relevant integrated business systems
Maintain an organized file structure for all documents in process to facilitate final QC of contract records, activation and filing, as required
Support Business Development, Quality, and / or Project Management with Client inquiries on contract related matters
Participate and lead interdepartmental projects as representative of the team, as needed
Responsible for suggesting and leading process improvements, system enhancements and / or other changes that would result in operational efficiencies and scalability of the team
Assist with client and other regulatory agency audits as needed / assigned
Assist with in the electronic and hard copying filing of commercial contracts
Assist with DocuSign uploads and document retention
Attend client meetings and participate on client calls individually and / or with Sales as needed
Participate in meetings with Contracts team, Sales, and other departmental meetings as needed
Assist in the mentoring and training of new staff
Provide other support and take on other responsibilities, duties or special projects as defined by team management
What we look for
Bachelor’s Degree or company specific or proven related experience in contracting
A combination of experience and / or education will be taken into consideration
Minimum of 5+ years Commercial Contracting experience or related experience with excellent understanding of concepts, practices and procedures in commercial contracting, to include experience working with complex and / or non-standard agreements
Pharmaceutical and / or CRO background a significant plus
Experience in a fast-paced multi-task environment; ability to work independently and under pressure
Exceptional computer skills (MS office suite (to include advanced Excel skills)
