Role Purpose :
The successful candidate will be involved in opportunities from start to finish, beginning with the presales phase. This includes supporting Business Development leads in deal qualification and scoping, creating high-level solution designs, securing stakeholder approvals, managing cost and risk models, delivering customer presentations, contributing technical insights to contract revisions and negotiations, and ensuring a smooth handover to delivery teams.
As a Technical Solution Architect, the individual will design solutions that support Getronics in acquiring new business and driving growth, making them a key contributor to the Business Development function.
The ideal candidate will have spent 5+ years as a Technical Consultant, and / or Solution Architect and have experience of working in a Pre-Sales role working on Unified Communications and outsourcing opportunities.
The candidate will be able to take a set of business requirements from a prospective client (usually derived from an RFI / RFP) and translate them into a technical solution. They will then design, cost, and present the solution internally for approval before presenting it to the client.
The ideal candidate will have experience of and a good in-depth understanding of UC architecture including industry standards and future technology but also an appreciation of all aspects of an ICT managed solution including technology, service delivery and commercial architecture of medium to large IT outsourcing deals. In addition, a good working knowledge of how solutions are delivered though different models, such as onshore, offshore and Cloud will be advantageous
Responsibilities / Accountability :
Solution Architects will be expected to fulfil the following responsibilities :
- Analyse and breakdown customer RFP and RFI’s
- Be a key member of bid team for the UC element of a customer opportunity working in close partnership with the Business development lead, the lead architect, the Bid Manager and the pricing Consultant
- Own the UC elements of the overall solution, ensuring that customer requirements are met or exceeded.
- Author solution documents and contribute to Bid responses.
- Lead internal Solution workshops with Pricing, Bid Management, Service Delivery and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure that the best solution architecture is adopted.
- Lead customer workshops to collaboratively build solutions with the client.
- Provide innovation to differentiate Getronics solution from competitors.
- Work collaboratively with customers to ascertain buying criteria and analyse business strategies translating them into architectures and designs.
- Work with Business Development in proposing proactive customer engagements outside of customer buying processes.
- Be a key contributor to costs and occasionally own the full cost model
- Support the development of new portfolio offerings and propositions
