Project Manager – Utility-Scale PV Development (Romania)
Our client is a prominent player in the renewable energy industry, specializing in solar and wind project development. With a strong commitment to sustainability, they continue to expand their presence across Central and Eastern Europe.
They are now looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the development of large-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects in Romania. The ideal candidate has a solid background in renewables, comprehensive knowledge of Romanian regulations, and a proven ability to manage complex solar projects from land acquisition to grid connection.
Location : Hungary & Romania (Hybrid / On-site)
Key Responsibilities :
Lead the end-to-end development of utility-scale PV projects in Romania, ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with company goals
Manage the entire project lifecycle : feasibility analysis, permitting, financing, procurement, construction, and commissioning
Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, authorities, grid operators, and other key stakeholders
Coordinate with EPC and engineering teams to ensure project milestones, budgets, and quality standards are met
Track regulatory developments in Romania and adjust project strategies accordingly
Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning
Drive negotiations for PPAs, land lease agreements, and financing structures
Work closely with internal departments, investors, and external consultants to optimize project outcomes
Provide regular project updates to senior leadership, including financial performance and risk assessments
Requirements :
At least 8 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on utility-scale solar PV development
Deep understanding of the Romanian energy market, permitting procedures, and regulatory landscape
Demonstrated success in managing multi-million-euro renewable energy projects from initiation to completion
Fluency in Hungarian, English, and Romanian – both written and spoken
Strong background in contract negotiations, stakeholder management, and risk assessment
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Willingness to travel frequently between Hungary and Romania
