The Regional Commodity Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the sourcing and procurement activities for specific commodities within a designated region. This role involves developing sourcing strategies, identifying and qualifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings and process improvements. The Regional Commodity Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, finance, and supply chain, to ensure the availability of high-quality commodities while optimizing costs and mitigating supply chain risks.
Main responsibilities đ
Commodity Strategy : Develop and align sourcing strategies with regional business goals.
Supplier Management : Identify, qualify, and manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluations and contract negotiations.
Contract Negotiation : Lead negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and conditions.
Cost Optimization : Drive initiatives for cost reduction and process improvements.
Supply Chain Risk Management : Identify and mitigate supply chain risks with proactive strategies.
Supplier Performance Evaluation : Define KPIs, conduct evaluations, and drive continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with operations, engineering, finance, and supply chain teams.
Stakeholder Engagement : Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business strategies.
Compliance and Ethics : Ensure compliance with relevant laws and promote ethical sourcing practices.
What we are looking for â
5â7 years of experience required in commodity management, strategic sourcing, or procurement, ideally within the relevant commodity area. This does not refer to operational purchasing or transactional buyer roles.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or engineering.
Ability to understand / read drawings / technical specifications
Fluency in English (both written and verbal)
Excellent MS Excel skills and general IT literacy.
Ability to travel as needed.
Strong knowledge of commodity-specific sourcing strategies, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze spend data, conduct market research, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results.
Ability to work in a cross-functional and regional environment, collaborating with stakeholders across different departments and regions.
Strong business acumen, strategic thinking.
