Job Description

Our client is looking for a Chief Financial Officer for their local manufacturing site. The job holder will report directly to the General Manager and manages a team of 6. He / she will be involved in the daily financial and administrative management of the company, leading the system of controls over forecasting and reporting, ensuring compliance with local and international standards. (SAP system is implemented.)

Tasks :

  • Oversee strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Work closely with executives to support business decisions through comprehensive financial analysis. Prepare and present regular management reports.
  • Prepare financial statements in compliance with local accounting standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Verify and ensure accuracy in statutory reporting.
  • Transfer Pricing : Prepare and review transfer pricing documentation in collaboration with HQ.
  • Tax Management : Address tax-related inquiries and ensure compliance with Hungarian tax legislation.
  • Lead and develop a team of x finance professionals.
  • Lead and develop internal controlling system
  • Develop budgets that account for production capacity, material costs, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption.
  • Control manufacturing metrics such as production volume, capacity utilization, and material yield.
  • Inventory Management System Optimization : Evaluation and improvement of inventory tracking systems, including safety stock levels, and ordering frequencies to balance inventory carrying costs against stock-out risks.

Requirements :

  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. (advanced degree (MBA) or professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.)
  • 5+ years of experience in finance / controlling / administration management.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Proven experience in leading small finance teams and managing financial operations.
  • Experience in a multinational corporation, with a strong understanding of global finance complexities.
  • Ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop long-term financial strategies.
  • Proficiency in English and Hungarian is required.
  • In-depth understanding of Hungarian tax rules, including corporate tax, and VAT
  • Experience in preparing financial statements that meet local and international standards.
  • Familiarity with transfer pricing regulations
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing transfer pricing documentation.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
  • Agility and ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
