Join the Systems Validation team and use your analytical and logic skills to ensure that the medical devices being developed are of high quality, intuitive, and meet design and intended use requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Evaluate and discuss clinical practices, treatment techniques and clinical process optimizations with Product Management, User Experience and Design Engineering teams as part of product R&D.
Provide continuous feedback and implement improvements to the design, development, and modification of radiation oncology products and systems.
Support development and maintenance of Varian products, with particular focus on Treatment Planning and Treatment Management Systems and associated Quality Assurance activities.
Participate in and contribute to design reviews, including product use requirement definition, product design and risk analysis activities.
Define strategies for assuring thorough design validation of radiation oncology products to demonstrate that they meet design and intended use requirements.
Analyze and write test procedures including traceability to use requirements and risk mitigations.
Represent the voice of clinical users and patients by identifying clinical workflow bottlenecks, missed opportunities, annoyance in workflows and critical features that may lead to mistreatments or hazards.
Ensure that validation is complete, that Varian’s products are safe and effective.
Ability to work as a part of global development team and capability to travel globally (30%) to support Varian’s validation efforts.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications :
ESSENTIAL :
Minimum M.Sc. Degree (or its local degree equivalent) in Medical Physics.
Clinical experience based in a radiation oncology hospital environment or similar professional experience, e.g., Clinical Applications Specialist, trainer.
Comprehensive radiation treatment planning knowledge.
Excellent interpersonal skills and fluent English, both in written and spoken.
Organised and goal oriented with ability to prioritise workload.
Equipped with an international mind set.
DESIRABLE :
Extensive knowledge of Eclipse Treatment Planning System and ARIA Radiation Therapy Management.
Knowledge of proton planning techniques and Eclipse-based scripting a bonus.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
