Job summary :

We have an exciting opportunity to join us as an Accountant for the Nordic region. Reporting to the Country Controller, you’ll take ownership of accurate and timely financial and statutory reporting, ensuring full compliance with local and US GAAP. You'll also play a critical role in managing our partnership with Iron Mountain's outsourced finance provider, driving the quality, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of our accounting operations.

Your role in our mission :

Ensure the coordination and accuracy of data reported during month-end close under US GAAP for all entities, including reviewing journals and balance sheet reconciliations, prepared by our outsourced accounting team.

Manage and prepare statutory accounts and track preparation of tax returns for all Nordic entities.

Lead the statutory audits with the support of accounting shared services.

Support the resolution of accounting issues for all Nordic entities.

Perform balance sheet reviews for all Nordic entities, with a focus on reviewing high risk balance sheet account reconciliations.

Accountable for ensuring compliance with Iron Mountain group accounting policies, US GAAP and SOX-Lite. Supporting the Country Controller in risk-based monitoring, design, and implementation of effective internal controls.

Ensure finance systems optimisation and continuous improvement. Proactively contribute to the development and implementation of the finance systems strategy.

Support the effective operation of accounting shared services, identifying and managing issue resolution. Provide support for any additional transitions to outsourcing companies or system implementations.

Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders.

Participate in ad-hoc projects.

Valued skills and experience :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance and / or relevant professional qualifications e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA.

Expertise in managing the end-to-end general ledger close process within a complex, matrixed, multinational environment.

Strong understanding and practical application of US GAAP and relevant local GAAPs.

Experienced in preparing statutory accounts and effectively managing statutory audits.

Experience working effectively within a shared service center model.

A self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong working relationships across all levels.

Independent and proactive, with a drive to challenge the status quo and inspire improvement.

Ability to effectively influence at all levels.

Desirable skills and experience :

Solid grasp of corporate taxation, particularly VAT regulations and compliance.

Demonstrated ability to implement and improve financial processes for greater efficiency.

Exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and internal controls.
