Fullstack Developer (BQA / NATO) Long-Term Contract, Remote (Europe)
Role Overview
You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust full-stack applications in a high security environment. You will interface directly with stakeholders in BQA / NATO projects, ensure compliance with strict standards, conduct code reviews, and contribute to the architecture and roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack software that meets NATO / BQA requirements
- Translate security and compliance requirements into code-level solutions
- Perform peer code reviews and enforce best practices
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve performance, reliability, and scalability issues
- Contribute to architectural decisions and system design
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and security auditors
- Write clear technical documentation
Mandatory Requirements (candidates who fail any one will be rejected)
Security / Compliance / Defense Domain ExperienceMinimum 5+ years in roles involving security, defense, government contracts, or regulated environments
Proven experience working in or with NATO / defense / security frameworksFull-Stack Technical ExpertiseAt least 3 years hands-on experience building and maintaining both backend and frontend systems
Strong backend skills in one or more : Node.js, Java, C#, or GoStrong frontend skills with React , Angular , or Vue.jsProficient in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, etc.Deep understanding of relational (e.g. PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databasesDevOps & Infrastructure SkillsExperience with CI / CD pipelines, automated testing, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)Security, Cryptography & HardeningHands-on knowledge of encryption, key management, secure coding practices
Experience with threat modeling, OWASP, secure authentication & authorizationFamiliarity with auditing, compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, etc.)Architectural & Design CapabilityAbility to make architectural decisions for large systems under security constraints
Experience in microservices, event-driven systems, or distributed systemsSoft Skills & Process DisciplineExcellent English communication (written + verbal)
Strong documentation skillsAbility to operate in structured environments (requirement tracking, code reviews, QA, audits)Self-discipline, attention to detail, accountabilityLogistics & EligibilityResidency in Europe (EU or permissible location)
