This role offers the chance to contribute to a widely used product serving millions of users worldwide. As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in PHP, you will be deeply involved in developing, maintaining, and enhancing backend systems that secure digital identities. You will work within agile teams alongside engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver robust, scalable, and high-quality software solutions. This position emphasizes ownership, technical excellence, collaboration, and mentoring in a dynamic environment focused on secure, user-centric innovation.

Accountabilities :

  • Develop and deliver high-quality, maintainable PHP code throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle.
  • Take ownership of critical features from planning and design through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex issues to improve user experience and system stability.
  • Collaborate actively within Agile teams and contribute to technical discussions, promoting coding standards and best practices.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in requirement analysis, effort estimation, and cross-functional coordination to deliver impactful features on time.
  • Design solutions addressing high availability, fault tolerance, scalability, and security requirements.
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to the evolution of the technical roadmap and development processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience developing web applications with PHP and solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles, including SOLID and Clean Code practices.
  • Strong knowledge of web infrastructure, HTTP, RESTful APIs, and secure coding standards to mitigate vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, SQL injection).
  • Familiarity with common PHP design patterns and basic understanding of Docker and web security concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage detailed tasks while maintaining a holistic view of the system.
  • Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work collaboratively in an Agile team environment.
  • Background in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proactive mindset and commitment to software development best practices.
  • Experience mentoring and knowledge sharing with peers.
  • Nice to have :

  • Experience with commerce systems, third-party payment providers, C#, .NET Core, or advanced PHP security techniques.
